A view of Mam Tor from above Cave Dale. Mam Tor is a 517 m high peak in the Derbyshire Peak District, surrounded by two well-preserved hill forts and a history of occupation. It is also the site of one of the earliest hill forts in Britain and one of the largest in Britain, with evidence of occupation from around 1200 BC. It is also known as the ‘Shivering Mountain’. The views from the top of Mam Tor are some of the best in the country and iconic in Peak District landscape photography.

Standing at 1,765 feet (538 m) tall, Back Tor is the highest point on Derwent Edge. You are afforded breathtaking views over the Peak District National Park from the summit. This picture was taken from the Great Ridge that separates Edale from the Hope Valley. A stunning sky adds drama to the scene.

Rushup Edge is a ridge in the Derbyshire Peak District of England. The ridge’s highest point is Lord’s Seat at 550 m , while Mam Tor lies beyond its eastern end, at the western end of the Great Ridge. A beautiful day to walk the Edge. The first hill pictured is Hollins Hill which is a gritstone hill and is 450 metres above sea level. In the middle of the three hills sits Back Tor the highest at 538 metres. The final summit in the distance is Lose Hill at 476 metres above sea level. This image was taken late afternoon with the sun giving a beautiful golden glow to the hillside.

About half a mile from Edale on the Pennine Way path sits a wooden bench. The panoramic view from the bench is stunning. The beautiful Edale Valley is situated in front of of you. Rushup Ridge, Mam Tor and Hollins Hill are in the background. A lovely tranquil day to relax and enjoy the splendor of the Peak District.
