Teal on the Estuary at Laugharne.

The Teal (Anas crecca) is the smallest duck in Britain and is also one of the most widespread. flocks of Teals are common in winter around estuaries, mudflats and inland wetlands. This is a male and was photographed close to Laugharne castle on the estuary. This image is also available on my Photo4me site here.

Magical Laugharne Castle.

This magnificent medieval castle was built in the 13th century by the de Brian family, probable atop an earlier Norman castle. Dylan Thomas put pen to paper in the summer house within the castle grounds. it did not fare too well during the Civil War and was partly dismantled. Now managed by CADW.
