A small, conical tower located to the south-east side of the island. The Beacon is believed to date back to the 1800s. It is still operational and is now equipped with modern navigational lights.

A juvenile Pied Wagtail (Motacilla alba yarrellii). Subspecies of White Wagtail limited to British Isles and sporadically on adjacent continental coasts. This juvenile was sitting on the river bank by Laugharne Castle in Carmarthenshire.

The Rook (Corvus frugilegus) is very common in cultivated fields where there are small groups of trees or small woods. This handsome specimen was photographed in Newgale, Pembrokeshire sitting by a picnic table far away from its usual environment.
