Mam Tor and the Great Ridge

Walking from Mam Tor along the Great Ridge the scenery is spectacular with three hills to climb before the descent into Castleton. The first hill pictured is Hollins Hill which is a gritstone hill and is 450 metres above sea level. In the middle of the three hills sits Back Tor the highest at 538 metres. The final summit in the distance is Lose Hill at 476 metres above sea level. This image was taken late afternoon with the sun giving a beautiful golden glow to the hillside.

Pendine Beach, Carmarthenshire.

Pendine (Welsh: Pentywyn, “end of the dunes”) is a village and community in Carmarthenshire, Wales. Situated on the northern shore of Carmarthen Bay. The beach is approximately six miles long. The sun is setting in late afternoon in November. The tide is receding opening up the vast expanse of beach. The recently opened Caban and Land Speed buildings are to the left of the picture.
